Raymond Chandler, the unofficial symbol of that place, once summarized: “LA has no more personality than a paper cup.”

Personally, I think that circus without tent, a suburb of nowhere, was an amusing topographical experiment. It will be interesting to see

those scientologists,

valley girls turned

rocker's girlfriends,

freeway-litter removers,

writers of T-shirt logos,

plasic surgeon's assistants,

air-conditioner repairmen,

homeless entepreuners,

female mud-wrestlers,

half-crazed shrinks,

and the rest of La-La-Landers getting used to our place.
